WE HAVE A DATE!!!

As you know from a previous post...I have had some contractions. Well, those haven't stopped yet. They aren't close enough to time though, sometimes they will get pretty close then spread back apart!!! So I went for my 36 week visit yesterday and the doctor said if Henry doesn't decide to come on his own he will be here Sept. 19!!!!! I can't wait to meet him!!!

36 Weeks

How many weeks? I am 36 weeks

Food Cravings? This week I have craved french fries, cheese, and a bloomin' onion?!!? Weird I know.

Food Aversions? Acidic foods!!

Weight gain? Well I have gained 47 (YIKES!)

What am I looking forward to?! This weekend...COLLEGE FOOTBALL BEGINS!! RTR (haha)

What do I miss? same as usual...Mt. Dew....and now maybe the days that I'm not walking around and having contractions!!

This week Henry is packing on the pounds, he should put on a 1/2 ounce to an ounce a day. I go Tuesday to the doctor (again). I am thinking it's my favorite place to be these days. He is shedding the downy covering of hair and the vernix caseosa, the waxy covering that protected his skin. At the end of this week Henry will be considered a full term baby!!!! YAY!! He is still not head down though, still breech!!

Eventful Week

So I titled my last blog, 35 weeks and eventful week...here is what has been going on in the Griffin household that last 4 days!!

That was Saturday, Sunday Tom had to go to work, and I woke up to go to church, but didn't feel well so I stayed home just incase (hated to go some where by myself and something happen)

Well, my eye had been itching all day, but I never thought anything of it..Tom came home and looked at it and said my eye was red...for the FIRST time in my life (or the first time I remember) I had pink eye. I called the doctors office and the doctor on call told me to take a Zyrtec, and if Monday it started leaking the green stuff to go in and see the doctor, well it never did that luckily.

Well, Sunday afternoon I started feeling like I had the flu or had been hit by a school bus. So I went took some tylenol and laid down, I had a very low grade fever, but it went away after the Tylenol and never came back, but the hurting did...especially in my stomach.

Monday I woke up with little sleep still hurting BADLY..but went on to work (I was a little sick to my stomach, when I woke up so I figured it was that and the fact that I'm 35 weeks pregnant). The pains got worse and worse, so Monday after school...where did I end up...right here:


In the hospital!!! I had all the monitors on me, and they said I was having contractions every 3-5 minutes, but had only dialted like a finger tip. So they ran all kinds of tests to see what was causing them so early. I think the conclusion was that I had a touch of a stomach bug and was dehydrated, one nurse said I wasn't, the other said I was...anyways it was NOT labor. I had 2 bags of fluid, and a brethine shot and the contractions slowed down and have stopped today!! I had to take today off of school and rest, but tomorrow I can return!! haha...thats the red head in me I am determined to work until my due date!! I was there for about 7 hours before they discharged me. I am feeling better today and I am hoping this doesn't happen again until it's actually time to meet Henry! It scared us all!! Maybe I should pack my bags though...just incase?!!?

35 Weeks ~An eventful week

How many weeks? 35 weeks... 35 weeks/35 days (well now 31 days)

Food Cravings? Cheese

Food Aversions? Still can't eat pork, but I can't eat anything acidic because of the terrible heartburn

Weight Gain? I haven't weighed this week..my scales at home weigh so much different then the ones at the doc's office.

What am I looking forward too? My school shower next week :)

What do I miss? Diet Mt. Dew (yes...I want one really badly!!)

This week Henry is running out of room, I think this actually started a couple of weeks ago. He should weigh around 5 1/4 pounds, not my big boy!! LOL. Most of his physical development is completely finished, his kidneys are fully developed and his liver can process some waste. He is very active, but it's just punches and kicks now...no more somesaults. He will be spending the next few weeks putting on weight!!

34 Weeks

How many weeks? 34 weeks

Food Cravings?! Ice cream and cheese (not together) I have had no weird cravings like that.

Food Aversions? Anything acidic....we saw his hair today...no wonder I have all this indegestion and heartburn.

Weight Gain? 44 poounds

What am I looking forward to? Meeting Henry!!

What do I miss? summer break...haha!!

This week Henry should weight about 4 3/4 pounds, he weighed in at a whopping 6 pounds & 11 ounces, yes that is over a pound in 2 weeks!! His fat layers, which help regulate his temperature when he gets here, are now getting thicker, making him rounder. His central nervous system and lungs are maturing.

Late Post

I know I usually post on Fridays, since that is the day I change weeks, but I go to the doctor tomorrow (Tuesday), so I thought I would post all up to date information then!!!

Church Shower

My sweet church family gave me a shower July 31. The girls in my Bunco group, plus some others helped with the shower...they did an amazing job!! Everything went with his nursery theme. It was all jungle animals. I am blessed to have such great friends, family, and church family!! I thought Henry was spoiled, but now I KNOW he is!!

33 Weeks

How many weeks? 33 weeks

Food Cravings? Sweet tarts and Ice cream (not together)

Food Aversions? Pizza...not good for the indegestion

Weight Gain? Didn't weigh this week

What am I looking forward to? My 36 week Ultrasound

What do I miss? The beach!!! (I really wanted to go again this summer)

This week Henry SHOULD be a little over 4 pounds (at 32 weeks he was 5 pounds and 9 ounces). He should be the size of a pineapple. He is starting to get "fat" instead of just getting longer. His bones are starting to get hard.

Let Me Hold You Longer

I was given this book by a good friend at my church shower this past Sunday (July 31). I read just the last page when she gave it to me and I cried...then when I got home I read it all. This book I highly recommend every mother read to their children!! It's hard to make it through it, but don't we all want to hold on just a little longer?!!? I keep thinking that I am only 8 weeks away (probably not even that long) from feeling Henry's last kick.

A Weekend with My Niece

This past weekend my niece, Lucy came to stay with Tom and me!! We had a weekend packed with fun activities. Friday, we went and got pedicures, got feathers in our hair, and went to an art class. Saturday we went to see Rio (at the dollar theater) and then went to Kiddie Carnival, which of course I forgot my camera. Then Sunday was my church shower, and finally on Monday Lucy got to go the Henry's ultrasound with us!! Whew!! I'm worn out just thinking about it all!! It was a fun busy weekend, here are some pictures from our adventures!!

Henry Frank's First Shower

Henry had his first shower, Sunday July 24 at Aunt Harriet's house. This was family and close friends shower. He ended up getting most of his "big" stuff. He got the travel system. his swing, travel swing, pack-n-play, bouncer, jumperoo, activity mat, a cradle, and tons of other stuff!! He is going to want for nothing. 32 Weeks

How many weeks? 32 weeks

Food Cravings? Ice cream

Weight Gain? 33 pounds total

What am I looking forward too? meeting Henry Frank

What do I miss? Mt. Dew!!!

This week Henry should be the size of a jicama (whatever that is), which means he weighs 3 pounds and 7 ounces, well I went to the doctor Monday and Henry weighs 5 pounds and 9 ounces. He is measuring the size of a 35 week baby. He can gain up to a 1/3 of his birth weight in the next 7 weeks. So I could be having an 11 pound baby (hopefully not). He now has fingernails, toenails, and real hair.
