Bad Blogger

I have been such a horrible blogger, I had planned on each week posting on Henry's development...well after Tom went back to work, we have had to learn a new schedule...so between adjusting and everything else...blogging has been the last thing on my mind...here are a few pictures of the last few weeks!!

1 Week

Henry you are 1 week old today!!!

Henry at 1 week you:

  • Have gained at least 3 ounces since you left the hospital.

  • Are finished with your "tanning bed" treatments for jaundice, but we try to keep you in sunshine as much as possible.

  • Eat every 2.5-3 hours

  • Had your first tummy ache :( This broke momma and daddy's heart, we couldn't calm you down all night.

  • Are the cutest baby ever

  • Are a blessing to us, we never knew you could love something (someone) that little as much as we do, you are perfect in every way!!

  • Are loved by lots and lots of people!!

Jaundice

Henry came home from this hospital with a bili ribbon score of 10.4, the doctor told us to keep him in the sunshine and have him rechecked again on Tuesday. Well, as you know this weekend it rained ALL weekend, no sunshine for my baby. We took him to the doctor bright and early Tuesday morning and his level had gone up to 14 (overnight). So they had Home Health Care come and set up a light in his bed. He had to stay on it for 2 days, all we could do was pick him up every 2 hours to change him and feed him. To say the least, my heart was broken!! Here are some pictures of him on the light, he was very peaceful!!

You might notice a certain someone in all these pictures... (Molly has loved Henry since we brought him home, she worries like crazy over him)

She is trying to look in and see what is happening to her baby brother.

This is my favorite, she ended up jumping on the couch and stood there to watch over him. He is sound asleep, she just knew something wasn't right so she had to take care of him I guess.

Oh, and that day my sweet church family sent some flowers to our house!! Then brought us a yummy dinner the next night. Tom and I are blessed beyond measure!!

Again...

Contractions?!!?

Friday morning I woke up bright and early hurting. I called my mom to see what to do, she works at the doctors office. She told me to just time the pains. Well, the pains were pretty constant so I thought I was just having typical pregnancy pains and went to school. The pains ended up getting worse and worse, so I called my mom back around 8, she told the doctor and they were going to call me back. Tom knew I was hurting and wanted me to just go to the hospital (but as most of you know I'm red headed so I'm stubborn). Tom shows up at work about the time the doctor returns my call. She wanted me to come in to be monitored. I went in, and guess what!!! My contractions were 2-4 minutes apart, but I wasn't dialated. As I mentioned in another post ( I THINK?) The doctor said she wouldn't stop the contractions again!! So she put my in labor and delivery and since I had eaten that morning, she said lets just monitor you for a few hours, if they haven't stopped around lunch we will do c-section at 2:30. Well, they didn't stop so guess who is here!!!! Yes, Henry Frank Griffin made his apperance in the world, Friday Sept. 2. 2011 at 3 P.M. weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and was 18 inches long!!
